ADDITIONAL READING ABOUT STUDENT LOANS
“Surviving Your Student Loans”, by Nancy Mitchell, Booklocker, 2006. This book is designed to make you aware of your options and help you in managing your student
loan debt effectively.
“Financial Aid 101”, by Carlyn Foshee Chatfield, Peterson’s, 2004. This book guides
you through the process of obtaining financial aid, including completing the dreaded FAFSA. Also includes an excellent chapter on state aid programs.
“1001 Ways to Pay for College”, by Gen and Kelly Tanabe, Super College, LLC, 2003. General listing of aid programs, but no details on how to qualify.
“Take Control of your Student Loan Debt”, by Robin Leonard and Deanne Loonin, Nolo, 2001. This book is designed to assist the borrower in default.
“Free Yourself from Student Loan Debt – Get out from Under Once and for All”, by Brian O’Connell, Dearborn Trade Publishing, 2004. If you can find it, it’s a good budgeting and debt management book, but not so good as a source of information about student loans.
“The Guerilla Guide to Mastering Student Loan Debt”, by Anne Stockwell, HarperCollins Publishers, Inc., 1997. If your Master Promissory Note is pre-1993, this book is excellent.
